Twin Lakes, WI Man Charged After Fatal Shooting

Authorities in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, have released additional information regarding a fatal shooting that took place Monday morning at the Tan Oak Apartments, leaving one woman dead and a man in custody facing multiple serious charges.

According to the Twin Lakes Police Department, officers were dispatched to 1615 Wilmot Avenue at approximately 9:02 a.m. on March 23, 2026, after receiving a report of a shooting. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office (KESO) assisted in responding to the scene.

When officers arrived, they encountered and detained 35-year-old Brandyn R. Hall, a resident of Twin Lakes, without any resistance. Upon entering the apartment, authorities discovered 37-year-old Amber K. Montana, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators confirmed that an 11-month-old child and a dog were also inside the residence during the incident. Fortunately, neither was harmed. The child was later safely released into the care of a family member.

Detectives from both the Twin Lakes Police Department and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau conducted a thorough investigation at the scene. During the course of their work, they gathered evidence and obtained a confession from Hall related to the shooting.

Following his arrest, Hall was transported to the Kenosha County Jail. He is currently facing several charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, possession of a firearm by a felon, and disorderly conduct while armed.

Law enforcement officials have emphasized that the incident appears to be isolated and have reassured residents that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Multiple agencies collaborated in the response and investigation, including the Twin Lakes Police Department, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, Twin Lakes Fire & Rescue, the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office, the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Kenosha County Division of Children and Family Services.

At this time, authorities have indicated that no additional information is expected to be released as the case is now under review by the District Attorney’s Office. Officials also noted that Hall has not yet been formally booked into the Kenosha County Jail, and a mugshot will be made available once that process is completed.

The investigation remains ongoing as legal proceedings begin.
