Three people Found Dead Robeson County Death: Investigation Underway
PEMBROKE, N.C. — Authorities are investigating the deaths of three individuals found inside a camper at a home on Melinda Road near Pembroke early on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office was called to 1141 Melinda Road at 6:39 a.m. following a report of deceased individuals. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered two people dead inside the camper. During a subsequent search of the structure, a third individual was also found deceased.
The victims have been identified as:
- Triston Goins, 28, of Maxton,
- Howard Dean Jones, 51, of Lumberton, and
- Ashley N. Jacobs, 35, of Pembroke.
All three individuals will be transported to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death.
Sheriff Burnis Wilkins confirmed that the deaths are not believed to be connected to the recent death of 51-year-old Jame P. Lowery, who was found deceased in Pembroke on March 9. Preliminary findings in that case suggest the death was not a result of homicide, though toxicology results are still pending.
The investigation remains ongoing, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
As the investigation continues, authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
