The Washington Court House community mourns the untimely loss of Colson Robert Guthrie, who passed away at his home on Monday, March 23, 2026, just three days before his 23rd birthday. Born on March 26, 2003, Colson’s life, though far too brief, was filled with love, joy, and meaningful moments that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Colson graduated from Miami Trace High School in 2021, where he played baseball with dedication and talent. He continued to play travel ball, excelling as a shortstop and pitcher, demonstrating his focus, skill, and passion for the game. He also had a love for cars, particularly foreign models, and enjoyed attending car meets, Cars and Coffee events, and gatherings with friends who shared his interests.
More than his hobbies or achievements, Colson cherished people above all. Time spent with friends, moments with his brother Conner, and shared experiences with loved ones brought him the most joy. Known for his giving and selfless nature, he was always ready to help others, whether offering support, a ride, or simply his presence. Colson also loved cooking, exploring new recipes with enthusiasm, reflecting his creativity and care for those around him. His kindness, dependability, and quiet generosity made him a beloved friend, son, brother, and partner.
Colson was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Betty Smith, and his grandmother Kay Guthrie. He is survived by his parents Donna and Adam Riner, Rob and Lori Guthrie; his brother Conner Guthrie; his girlfriend Kylie Snyder; his grandfather Keith Guthrie; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. His family, friends, and extended loved ones were central to his life, and their memories of him will keep his spirit alive.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, with Pastor P.J. Rings of Lighthouse Church L3C in Ashville officiating. Burial will follow at Range Township Cemetery in Madison County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Though gone far too soon, Colson Robert Guthrie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all whose lives he touched.
