Beaverton Obituary Death: Cherish Has Died In A Fatal Crash
Authorities are investigating a deadly three-vehicle collision that took place Monday afternoon in Buckeye Township, claiming the life of a Beaverton man and leaving others injured.
According to the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 4:40 p.m. on March 23, 2026, to the intersection of West Howard Road and South River Road following reports of a serious crash involving multiple vehicles. Emergency responders arrived to find three vehicles involved and several individuals injured.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2001 Buick LeSabre, driven by an 86-year-old Beaverton woman, was traveling southbound on South River Road when it failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The vehicle then entered the intersection and collided with a westbound 2018 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by a 23-year-old man, also from Beaverton.
The impact of the crash caused the pickup truck to lose control and veer into a third vehicle—a 2017 Buick Encore—that was preparing to turn north onto South River Road. The driver of the Buick Encore, identified as 42-year-old Aaron B. Eagleson of Beaverton, suffered severe injuries in the collision. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead.
The drivers of the Buick LeSabre and the Ford pickup truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The intersection remained closed for several hours as authorities conducted an extensive on-site investigation. Michigan State Police accident reconstruction specialists assisted in analyzing the crash, while the Gladwin Fire Department and MyMichigan Ambulance Service also responded to provide support.
Officials noted that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the incident, though no final determinations have been made. The investigation is still ongoing, and once completed, the findings will be forwarded to the Gladwin County Prosecutor’s Office to determine whether any charges will be filed.
The Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office expressed its condolences to the family of the victim and urged members of the public to remain respectful when discussing the tragedy, particularly on social media.
As the investigation continues, the Beaverton community mourns the loss of a life cut short in a devastating and sudden accident.
