A’mahri Robinson, Obituary Jacksonville, FL Death: Beloved Resident Has Died

 

The Jacksonville community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 2-year-old A’mahri Robinson, who tragically lost his life during a domestic dispute at the Valencia Way Apartments on Labelle Street on Sunday night.

The incident began as an argument between adults in the residence, during which a gun was discharged, fatally injuring A’mahri. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead. Two other children, both under the age of 10, were present at the time but were thankfully unharmed.

Authorities have arrested 21-year-old Steven Dodson Jr. in connection with the shooting. Dodson is facing multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, child endangerment, tampering with evidence, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was apprehended less than 24 hours after fleeing the scene, with the help of the U.S. Marshals. Dodson has a criminal history, including a prior prison sentence for robbery and domestic battery charges.

Family members and loved ones remember A’mahri as a joyful, lively child who brought happiness to everyone around him. His aunt has started a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral and memorial costs.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) is continuing its investigation into the incident and searching for another adult who fled the scene. They are encouraging anyone with information to come forward and contact authorities at 904-630-0500.

As the family prepares for funeral services, they have requested privacy during this difficult time and expressed deep gratitude for the community’s support. The family’s fundraiser reads, “Your kindness and support mean more than words can say.”

This tragic event highlights the dangers of domestic disputes escalating into violence and emphasizes the importance of community cooperation in supporting law enforcement efforts.
